Born into a family of actors, Jenny Lerner is an actress, singer, and educator with a lifelong passion for the arts. She started acting early. Like 11-months-old-early in a national “Kitchen Aid” commercial. She’s been running lines with her dad, character actor, Ken Lerner, since she was old enough to read (seriously, you should see the home videos) and now he gets to run lines with her!
She studied theatre at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania and at the Accademia Dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy. Favorite credits include “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot”, ABC’s “The Middle”, and FOX’s “The Mindy Project”. In Los Angeles, Jenny is a Teaching Artist and actress with Jewish theatre company, theatre dybbuk. She also teaches acting and musical theatre privately and has taught at summer camps and Hebrew schools in Los Angeles and across the country.
Jenny loves working with kids and teens and is so proud when watching students growing in confidence and bringing their uniqueness to their work. There’s nothing better than watching a student come out of their shell! Her goal is to make her students feel creative, bold and assured in their choices. Having fun is also a super important part!

Years ago, Jenny saw this video from a 1998 concert of Bernadette Peters singing "Not A Day Goes By" from Stephen Sondheim's musical, "Merrily We Roll Along". In this mesmerizing performance, Peters gets emotional, taking each phrase slowly and carefully. Every line is meaningful to her and her feelings seem to pour out, making the audience feel the emotion behind her song. This is the kind of truth Jenny aspires to in her own performances and she encourages her students to personalize their work so that they can connect and entrance the audience like Bernadette!
